Guitar Workshop with Roy Book Binder - This workshop was held at the Florida stage instead of way down the road, and Roy picked another basic song showed how he builds upon it. He brought his collapsible guitar too, and that was pretty amazing to see how it folds into a case about half the size of a normal travel guitar case. Fun session like always with Roy.

Verlon and Shawn
Verlon Thompson and Shawn Camp - This was the best set for these two over the weekend. Shawn performed a song that he has yet to record, but it was about a grandfather's fiddle, and it was well worth requesting. I can't say enough good things about the two of them, so I'll just leave it at that.

Joe, Tony and Tania
Shawn and Peter
Shawn and other Jam musicians
Vassar's Bluegrass Set Hosted by Peter Rowan - This set was dedicated to Vassar Clements who was a integral part of this festival until he passed away in 2005. This morning jam was directed by Peter Rowan, and he had a cast of characters joining him for the set. He had his regular performers up there with him from the Peter Rowan and Tony Rice Quartet. He also had Shawn Camp, Tania (The Duhks) and Joe Craven join in on the action. Very solid set like always.

During Jim Lauderdale, The Lee Boys, and whatever consisted of The Duhks show, we perused the many vendors and started getting ready so we could leave as early as possible on Monday morning. I had mainly ignored them in the pursuit of hearing as much music as possible. Jim was funny like always, but his music is always a bit too traditional and like George Jones for me...which isn't my thing. The Lee Boys were loud...real loud...I mean, REALLY FUCKING LOUD. We thought they were loud and we were over in the vendor section. Your ears had to be bleeding if you were in front of the main stage.

Donna the Buffalo - They finished up Springfest this year with their Cajun jam band goodness. Still not a big fan, but it's always good to get a few songs under my belt each year. The funny part was that Verlon came out for a song, and it actually worked really well. They brought some other musicians out as well, but after a good helping of them, I was ready to head back to the campsite. With that, we said goodbye to another Springfest.

Let's go to the extra stuff that makes Springfest special...
