Well, the morning started off bright and early once again. We knew this was going to be a busy day. We were going to try and catch as much music while packing so we could leave after the last of the music for the day. I had to be back for work on Monday morning, so we couldn't wait till Monday morning to leave.

Verlon Thompson - Well Verlon
finally got a set to play music by himself. He put on a great show even
though it was cold and still shady. I think Verlon and his music works just
perfectly for Sunday morning at Springfest. His new DVD that was ready at
this Springfest is a great release as well. Let's you see him in an intimate
live setting, and then gives you some insight into the background of Verlon's
music.
We went back to the campsite and continued to get ready so we'd be ready to leave after the music ended tonight. We headed back when the Mammals got ready to start.

The Mammals - This band put on
another great set, and this set was a good deal more energetic than the
one I saw after lunch. The band is great live, and the music is an interesting
mix of bluegrass and alternative. Any "bluegrass" band that plays a Morphine
cover is very willing to experiment and try new ideas. The new material
they played sounds like they haven't lost that ideal. (I had some
other pictures of the entire band playing, but I liked how the sun was shining
on Ruth's face that morning.)

Dread Clampitt - This was the
final act for the weekend. Last year, the Duhks finished up the weekend,
and they put on an amazing set. I've really liked Dread Clampitt's first
two releases, and thought they would work very well as the last act. Unfortunately,
the band's newest direction is a bit more laid back and "jam band"-ish.
It's still entertaining material, but I don't think the energy level for
the band made for a great finish for the weekend.
