We set up camp Thursday morning after arriving in Suwannee. Here's a picture of our campsite.

Then the bands started playing...
Sloppy Joe - Hippy bluegrass that had a fun attitude, but did little for me musically.
Red Headed Stepchild - Folk with many up-tempo numbers. The singer could sing like no-one's business (Janis Joplin comparisons came to mind), and played a damn fine harp and sax to boot. She was the showcase of the band, because the rest of the band was lacking.

New Traditionals - Straight-up old-school bluegrass. Enjoyable, and Josh
Pinkerton came out to play with them, and unfortunately, it was the only
time I personally got to hear him for the weekend. Below is the New Traditionals
with Josh Pinkham joining in for
a song or two.
The Duhks - Contemporary bluegrass is the best label I can apply here. Hints of Celtic influence (musically) come through much more strongly on the CD than live. A lot of fun to watch and listen to, and they are definitely full of youthful energy.
The Gourds - Punk-Irish-Bluegrass. Yeah, I know there is no such thing, but my wife thought the description fit too. Great "fuck you" attitude in the first song, and it carried over the rest of the songs we heard. I gotta pick up some of their material on CD, since I never did at the fest.

We rented a golf cart, and it helped us get to place to place faster. Since
we had extra seats, we were always willing to give others rides...
Donna the Buffalo - Fun jam band that mixes Cajun influences with bluegrass. Susan dug them a bunch, and it is fun dancing with everyone while they play live.
